Lithgow & District Community Nursery
Growing Native Plants for the Future
About Us
The Lithgow Community Nursery is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to the use of native plants local to the Lithgow district.
We collect seeds from local native plants for production and sale. A variety of plants are available, suitable for home gardens, rural properties and revegetation of bushland.
Use of locally sourced plants protects biodiversity and provides wildlife habitat.
Whether you are a homeowner looking for a few native plants, a large public or private landowner, or a business looking to revegetate your property with native plants, the Community Nursery can assist you.
The nursery can supply plants from existing stock (subject to availability) or assist property owners to collect seeds and cutting from their own land for production by nursery staff at the nursery.
There is a small fee involved for this service - the Nursery is more than happy to provide you with a quotation.

The Nursery is proud to support the sale of the book Native Plants Hassans Walls Reserve and Lithgow Surrounds.
It is A5 in size, has 192 pages and over 1000 colour photos. It features 490 native plants, in sections on wildflowers, orchids, grasses, rushes, sedges, eucalypts, ferns, liverworts and mosses plus a sample of fungi and lichens. It is an important resource for the study of native plants around Lithgow, in the Upper Blue Mountains and on the Newnes Plateau.
The book is available for direct sale from the Nursery for $36 each.
